From animators to level designers, writers to environmental artists, programmers to marketers, there are tons of ways to build a career in game development. But with so many pathways to choose from, it can be hard for young gamers to know where to start. We are here to help!
This week we’re taking the Archiact Show on the road (virtually, for now), and undertaking our very first round of Game Dev Fireside Chats! On May 19th and 20th, a handful of our employees will speak to high school students in British Columbia about their roles in game development to give students an idea of the career paths available to them. This program is our opportunity to mentor the next generation of game developers, equipping the developers of the future with the tools they need to break into the gaming industry. Inclusivity and diversity have always been a top priority for our studio, and it's important that we do our part to break down long-standing barriers that have existed - and continue to exist - in game development. Gaming shouldn’t be an exclusive club; it should be open to everyone!
